Can Akitas Live With Cats? |
Another popular question, and very dependent on each dog
Like most other dogs there will be those Akitas that can and those that can't.
Typically if an Akita is introduced to cats at a young age then they will grow to ignore them and there will be no problems, this is however not always the case and some will, like other dogs, simply feel that if it's smaller than them and furry it's fair game!
When we are rehoming a dog we ask the exisiting owners if the dog is used to living with cats, if they are we will mention it within the dogs information. However the fact that a dog is used to one cat is not always an indication that it will live together with another in much the same way that 2 dogs won't always get on! |
