In need of sleep 2010/03/09 11:05 Karma: 0
Hey guys........

Any help greatly appreciated on this one........ our gorgeous bear is in season and we have a collie down the road who decides it is good fun to come up and wind Paris up every night at the moment... howling & barking outside the main door to the house.... this has been for the last 3 nights..... starting to loose patience now as you can imagine as poor paris doesn't know what to do with herself nor do we as we aint slept.... , he also decides that coming up to the house in the day when we are out is a good idea.... yesterday i got home and found she had chewed chunks out of the door,.. this is unlike her but it's all down to this collie.. GRRRRRRRRRR, anyone got any ideas to try and stop this collie stressing her out whilst in season?? Our next door neighbour comes round every day a couple of times a day to check on her & let her out when we're out but it doesn't deter him!!!!

Don't know why some people can't keep an eye on their dogs they just let them roam around and annoy other people!!!

Go and find its owner and tell them straight to secure their dog or their getting the bill for your door, obviously it was the collie who damaged it trying to get in !!! not paris trying to get out lol.
Glad to be your southern shandy drinking co-ord, Any questions please Pm me or SamYoko

yep - go straight to the owner and remind them of their responsibility as an "owner" or the dog warden will need to be called.

Definitely go and see your neighbour, it's really bad of him to let the dog roam like that even though we do get a lot of farmers dogs roaming around here in Devon too

Sadly, Paris will try to get out to the dog if she is at her peak time of the season usually 10-15 days in.

There are sprays and tablets you can buy over the counter but in my opinion they are pretty useless.

Next step - I would get her spayed 3 months after she finishes her season.

Will give it a whirl but he's the most arrogant farmer (not tarring all with the same brush here mind just this particular one!!) i've ever met may need to take back up with us..... maybe if the collie actually meets paris he will be put off for life.... she would certainly square up to him!!!!!

The plan was to have her spayed in feb but she came into season again so is def on the list for 3 months time!!!

Cheers Guys

yes I tried bitch spray with Keyko too Pat - unsure of its effectiveness and it honks plus she had to be sprayed 30 mins before going out so the whole house would stink even when she was sprayed in the garden. I used to take a stick out with me and had to have a couple of well placed boots up the back end "region" to give off leaders/roamers soemthing else to think about.
Not the poor dogs faults either.

Try to get her 'wee' stops as far from the house as possible and pray for rain to wash the existing grass/pavement.

When Jasmine's was in season I used to walk her, as quickly as possible, as far from the house for her first few pit stops.

We used to get dogs trying to come over to us [when walking] no matter how far away we were, used to walk 'out of peak' doggy times as well.

The randy collie will hopefully concentrate away from your house. [If he's your neighbour you might be stuffed.]

collect her pee and chuck it around the collies own land.
chuck it at the farmer then pee yourself as the collie tries to shag him pmsl...... then remind him you will f~~k him a lot harder if his dog turns up on your doorstep once more .

sorry Donna

he's off work this week so at his mischievious worst

Ok, in fairness, i've just told him off again & he said sorry, he thought he'd quoted you & replied but obviously caught the 'edit' button by accident & not noticed. He did seem genuinely confused for a few seconds.
